Surely Tipp have now gone the way of Chrysler in the big 3 car companies and now must be recognised for what they are. A 1/2. It never ceases to amaze me how much they like to blow themselves up due to winning 22 All Ireland`s before 1971. The fact of the matter remains. Offaly have won more All Irelands in the last 30 years than Tipperary. Their deridement of Clare, Limerick and Waterford is embarrassing. Calling the Kilkenny hurling team thugs even more so. Amazing then how Tipp took in a Kilkenny hurling cast off not so many years ago when people on the unmentionable website like to deride Munster Rugby for taking in foreigners.

My uncle used to say that it was the introduction of the helmet in the early 70s that coincided with Tipps subsequent lack of success, he was a Kilkenny man though !!

Tis a pity ye didn`t get to the final instead of the blaas and take an even bigger hopping
The notion ye have that ye can actually beat Kilkenny in the league is pure comedy. Ye can even beat a useless Waterford team

They did beat Kilkenny in the league, it wasn’t a notion.
At the moment there is only a big one and not A big three or Two, and I don`t care who it is, but for the sake of Hurling at least one other county has to step up to the plate and challenge KK, because I don`t think hurling can take many more AI`s like the previous two, if it wants to broaden it`s appeal among impressionably youngsters, who might decide to take up the greatest game in the world.
And like it or not Tipp are among a very small select few who just might be able to do this, and I never thought I would ever say this, but I hope Tipp do step up to the mark and take the fight to KK.

These things run in cycles: Tipp were winning all before them, mostly, in the 50`s through the mid 60`s. Kilkenny have been the dominant team in the `00s after being behind Tipp until, (I think ) the `90`s
Tipp are the team the `second tier` always like to beat, and against whom they raise their game to new heights: kinda like Manchester City for the derby games with United.
Its fair to say the `second tier`, unless they reach the final, of course, never seem as motivated against Cork and Kilkenny.

Well after that hiding on sunday i think it will either do one of 2 things it will either drive the rest to new heights like when clare drove the rest to new fitness levels in the 90`s or it will make the rest s**he in their togs at the prospect of facing that black and amber jersey on the field of play. Now to be honest i think that annihalation will be the wake up call for the rest to have no fear facing the cats as you cant really do much worse than poor auld waterford last sunday and sure if you even get within 5 points you will be considered a legendary team

With all the talk of the physicality and fitness levels of Kilkenny people mustn`t overlook the technical excellence of not just the team, but the entire squad.
So it is not just a question of other counties honing their fitness levels and physicality, but also ensure they that 30 quality players to choose a team from.
Tipp are the closest right now so lets hope fans of all other counties support the Tipperary David as he sets out to slay Goliath.
