Brilliant result for Clare Camogie team last night following on from their success at minor level for the last few years. They beat National League Champions Cork in the Munster Final played in Thurles yesterday. Naomi Carroll got player of the game

Fantastic display by all. Great improvements over the winter. Hope they repeat the feat in the championship in three weeks time.

Naomi Carroll won a Munster Under 18 championship on her own for Limerick a couple of years ago with a late Hat Trick and then departed for Clare.
She was a good one. Sob.. Sob..

Ya playing for Na Piarsaigh since underage and went back to her native Clare. Used to turn up to Limerick underage camogie training in a Clare jersey!!
There was another girl Maura McGrath who also left Na Piarsaigh to go back to Clare. I think she is Conor McGraths sister. And to top it all off multiple allstar Anna Geary who was probably on the Cork team that lost to Clare could also be playing for Limerick as she was born in Drom/Broadford I believe.
If only the three of those were playing for Limerick!!!!

Congrats to all the Clare Senior Camogie Team in their brilliant win over Cork, great work has been done since the new management took over, and this work is only going to continue, an All Ireland title senior title is on its way to Clare in the near future, a great bunch of players, they all work extreamly hard and show great commitment. Well done to all involved, its a pity that the Clare print media were not in attendence to record this great night.

Those girls are fair lucky they're not playing for Limerick. Limerick are a disgrace in camogie. They gave a walkover to Clare in the Munster semi final making a mockery of the Munster Championship/ I;m not trying to take from Clares win, fair play to them but any team that gives a walkover in a championship devalues it.

Clare would probably have beaten Limerick comfortably in the game anyway so getting the walkover does not in any way devalue the Clare success.
I would agree that Limerick should not have given a walkover, and when the fixture planners were sitting down, the availability of players due to exams should have been taken into account. The Limerick Clare game could have been played last week for instance.
By the way a depleted Limerick played Offaly in a challenge game tonight in Ballingarry near Borrisokane. They competed well for most of the game and actually led for a period after half time, but late Offaly goals sealed a win for them. Offaly have decent forwards.

The Munster Senior camogie championship in no ways mirrors its counterpart in Hurling. It seems to me its used as a warm up for the start of the championship. It gets very little publicity and seems like a footnote between the end of the leagues and the start of the championship. Its a pity really, but it just seems that way.
BTW, well done the clare girls on bridging a 68 year gap.

Well done to the Clare team on their surprise win over Cork, and a big thumbs down to the media for their lack of coverage of the match. Best of luck to the team in the all-Ireland series.

Cork took them for granted and they were good enough to take advantage. I forgive Anna Geary the Goddess. Swoon

Big result has been on the cards for a while, Clare narrowly missed out on a league semi-final spot this year losing to galway by 3/4 pts in their last group game. Panel would be made up of a few from 2008 junior all ireland winning team and the rest would be relatively young girls with plenty of success at underage . Well done to all involved , great win.

Anna Geary is a fine player no doubt, forwards or backs, she can take a score, do the dirty work and never a dirty stroke. She also comes across well being interviewed, a natural on tv. Ah shur any man or woman between the ages of 10 and 90 and under 9 hours dead would be mad about her, she's the finest looking woman in Munster. No matter what county you are from even Kerry and Tipp lads would have to admit it. Anna Geary should have gone for the presidency twould have been a landslide victory.

That's some win for them, credit where credit is due. But the coverage of the match and the win is/was despicable. An insult to both teams really.

Unfortunately they've to play Cork again in the first round of the All Ireland so its going to be very hard for them. Cork won't be caught off guard again. Also they'll be a bit off Galway and Wexford too I reckon

Cork on June 23 @ home in Ennis. The also have Tipp, Glaway and Dublin in a round robin competition. The Clare girls, I hope all going good, should make it to the final four in August. I would not expect anything less from this panel. There is a core of players in this group that have been on winning squads from U16's upwards, they are all well able to achieve, this is what drives them on. The management and coaches have to the blend of expeirence and youth right this time. The finest players in the county are on this panel, These times are the beginning of something special for Clare camogie. Long may it last.

On the back foot so
looks like the munster final victory might only be a moral victory in this years championship.
Hopefully we can turn things around
