If today showed anything it's that Lar Corbett is not a confident guy.

No.
Paudie Maher should have got red, and Lar was stupidly employed in the tactic of trying to rile up Tommy Walsh and get him sent off.
Apart from that I don't see much that Tipp did wrong.

They brought the great game to a new low alright. Looks like Tipp and Cork are joining the weaker counties now and some of their badminded posters on here like Turenne and RebelRebel30 are making it a lot worse with some of their "contributions"!

Really disappointing filth out of them today. What harm but they had the goodwill of the country when O'Shea and Sheedy were over them. That goodwill is gone now.
Today was a reminder of the stories you heard about the Tipp teams of times gone by:
“In the talk before the game I spoke about the ‘50s, which I barely remember, and the ‘60s. I think 70 per cent of Tipperary’s wins back then were physical. The aim was getting the man out of the game, hitting him, putting him off, jolting him. And the other 30 per cent was hurling.
Justin McCarthy – Cork Examiner Interview, July 1985.
I was appalled to see one of the greatest players ever in Tommy Walsh being bullied with corner-boy tactics today. I could hardly believe what I was seeing.
The 2009 and 2010 games were something you'd be proud to show people from elsewhere as proof of what a wonderful game we have here. Today's showing would only leave you thoroughly ashamed. I hope no one outside of Ireland ever sees it.

Shure the eagle eyed Tipperary school teacher who spotted Colin Lynch in the legendary 1998 Munster Final and succeeded in de-railing Clare's bid for the All-Ireland will be able to testify on today's violence from the Premier Men. Or does Tipp's vision depend on who is involved. If Tipperary doesn't deal radically with today's carry-on their reputation as a hurling county will have been severely damaged. And I write as a neutral who hoped before the game began that they would win today. Tipperary were a disgrace today and that is the opinion of virtually every Clare hurling fan with whom I watched today's game.

You complete missed the point of what was happening, and also over the top...Tipp wanted to force a particular match-up and Kilkenny were not buying it. That is all that was going on there...keep Tommy Walsh busy watching Lar and stop him launching attacks like he did in the final last year.

They were punished. Look at the score-board.
That kind of attempt at intimidation isn't going to work against Kilkenny - Waterford tried a bit of it in 08 and look what happened then. It takes your mind off the game, not to mention the fact that you're not playing your own game anyway and Kilkenny will punish that. Lar Corbett tried to follow Tommy Walsh around and niggle at him the whole time which may have worked in limiting him supplying ball but it also took a scoring Tipp forward out of the game. If you want a man to break ash over Walsh's head why wasn't Bonnar Maher or someone else put on him? You can try to match Kilkenny physically but legitimately, and in this regard this year Galway did so and out-hurled them while Limerick probably brought plenty of physicality to match KK in their game but were short on hurling and experience. Tipp's messing approach didn't work today and their punishment is that they were ate without salt and generally humiliated by Kilkenny today.

You missed a point yourself. While Lar was forcing Tommy to mark him, Tommy went on marking Bourke. It effectively meant taking two of Tipps best forwards out of the game on the one lad.
I thought Corbett was stupid to be honest, a lot of the time he was trying to shoulder or run into Tommy to get a reaction. I thought Walsh did well not take the bait like he normally would, and pick up the second yellow.
I think also it shows how poorly Tipp were mentally and tactically prepared for the match.

Tipp are only copying the dirt that Clare brought into the game in the '90s.

Having the whole country laughing at you is punishment enough. They have who ever came up with their tactics to thank for that

Exactly. What sort of mess was tipps preparation when any tactics they had went out the window immediately and was replaced with get Tommy sent off by any means necessary. There were tipp people around me disgusted there's no way they can leave Ryan and Dunne over them.

Tipperary hurling is a laughing stock. The dirt employed by Tipperary today is something that will take years to get over.
A very sad day for Tipperary.
Unlike Benny Dunne who was allowed to wear the county jersey after his dangerous assault on the Kilkenny player in 2009, the key offenders today should never be allowed to wear the Tipperary jersey again.

Not sure where you were sitting but several Tipp fans in the Lower Cusack echoing the very same sentiments.

Steady on - bit of niggling and one nasty stroke, borne out of desperation but nothing to write home about.
Duignan making too much of some of the stuff - contrast his reaction to Tipp player throwing a hurley to his thoughts when KK player did the same thing in 2010.
More worrying from a hurling point of view was the collapse of Tipp in the second half. Was the tactic of Corbett shadowing Walsh a case of Corbett doing his own thing or was he acting under instructions from Ryan.
Either way, a poor indictment of Ryan's grasp of the game.

The tactics employed by Tipp today beggared belief, it was like something you'd see in a Junior B game, try to rattle the suspect guy on the opposition in the hope of getting him sent off. Unbelievable! And then the guy they pick to cause all this aggro is Lar (free entertainment upstairs tonight), a lad who wouldn't frighten a fly away from a pile of steaming hot sh1te. Unbelievable! Were Pat Shortt & John Kenny giving the pre-match/half-time instructions. Unbelievable!
Anyway Tommy Walsh gave the required answer again today, play him whatever way you want but it will take a good un to better him, and Lar isn't that un.
The final result/humiliation (Tipp getting beaten by 18 points in an AI semi-final?) is probably a fair reflection of how tactically naive Tipp were today.

Lower hogan. In fairness most tipp people know their hurling. Today was a total embarrassment for real tipp fans.

If Lar was sent out with the instruction of doing what he done today and it can only be assumed he was then this was absolute sucide from Declan Ryan. Not only was he taking his potentially best forward out of the game, issuing those instructions was basically telling ever other Tipp man that they are not good enough to Hurl man on man against Kilkenny and the only they'll beat them is to drag them into a brawl and upset their rhythm. Imagine Kerry telling Donaghy or the Dubs telling Brogan to not play as a forward but go man on man with the half back , lunacy.
