after today's game as there was with Noel O'Leary?
Will the Croke Park handwringers who claim they want that kind of stuff stamped out of the game fro good and all come on TV and give us chapter and verse? Or will it all be shrugged off as "one of those things"
This off the ball and after the ball shouting in an opponents face - by both sides - needs to be sorted too. Terrible carry on.
Sherlock just shoved his hand in the centrebacks face after a point - brogan gets involved and booked but not before he calls the ref a F**ken Pr*k to his face. Hilarious stuff now as it's all pushing and shoving at half time, with the wee saint Sherlock involved again.
For some reason I don't think the press will make much of it.

Dublin players doing the majority of it.
Declan Sullivan got booked after a Dublin player gave him a smack.

* It was goig on from both sides in the first half. Thankfully it stopped for most of the second half and some football broke out. That referee was useless though. He missed some very obvious frees and seemed to give some very soft ones.
Given the farce the first half was it'll be very interesting to see now what the meeja and handwringers make of it all.

I tend to agree lads, but because Kerry won i'd rather there was nothing made of it, simply because 99% of it was caused by the Dubs, they are out, thats enough punishment for this year. But it has to be looked at during the off season.
Paul Galvin kicked out in the exact same way as NO'L did to him today, and he was on a yellow. I hope nothing is made of it, because i didn't relly think much of the same incident in Munster final, but if they were to be consistant........
The rules, meeja, refs etc is really messed up, this has been the most confusing year ever regarding discipline. The GAA will ruin our games unless they sort it out.

Alot of niggly incidents, did Cooper hop his head off the ground at the end because yer man didn't catch him in the face though it was late. Dara O'Se floored a fella with a wicked shoulder from behind off the ball aswell. Referee never stamped his authority on the game.

* Let's see if Nicky Brennan comes on our TV screens to tell us again how much they want to stamp out any of the violence.

You lads beat me to it. Can anyone explain to me how Noel O'Leary's kick at Paul Galvin was deserving of a one month suspension while Paul Galvin's stamp on the Dub (Casey?) warrants only a yellow card? Can someone take me through this step by step because I am struggling to understand it.
Is there any reason why should Paul Galvin not be suspended?

Just watched Pat Shpilane and his cronies on the Sunday Game and woud you believe it, one reference was made to the "unsavoury" incidents that marred the game and it was dismissed by the other Kerry panalist as "just handbags".
That's all right then isn't it.

Galvin headbutted Casey in the first half too - not a word on TV I suppose
Better team won
Kerry are the most skillful and the most cynical team in Ireland - almost the perfect mix

Yes, I noticed that Spillane didn't conduct his trial by meeeja tonight. Funny that, seeing as Kerry were playing.

Original question: Will there be the same media highlighting the off teh ball blows?
Answer if the Sunday Game is anything to go by: Not on your life.
Let's see tomorrow if the incident gets a front page photo on the Irish Times like O'Leary's strike on Geraghty did...and will the CCCC ask the ref if he wants to revisit it? Now call me crazy but I have a sneaking feeeling that we won't hear much more about this. I wonder why...

was at the game, didn't see the paul galvin 'alledged' head butt, but heard about it, was expecting to see it on the sunday game. was it shown live ?????
well if he headbutted then he deserves to be punished, probably the same punishment that was handed out to noel o leary following the graham geraghty incident. end of !

Some of ye are very quick to come out with lines like "do the time do the crime" when it comes to Cork players.
O'Leary got done by the CCCC for a kick on Galvin. He took his punishment and got on with it. O'Leary was also investigated by the CCCC and vilified by the media for the strike on Geraghty. The ref decided it had been dealt with on the day. Fair enough. The fact is the CCCC took O'Leary to task twice and so did the media led by Pat Spillane and the Sunday Game. Yet there isn't a word about anything unsavoury from yesterday's game, apart from a small section in the Examiner about Galvin's stamp. You'd swear the two teams yesterday were a crowd of Mammy's boys. When we all know otherwise.
As yet nobody has given any reason why Galvin should not be suspended.
I'd prefer if he was not suspended, it would be a shame for any player to miss a AI final but I'd at least like to see a bit of an outcry and have him hauled before the CCCC. The same as would have happened if it was Noel O'Leary doing the stamping or the headbutting.
Again we're just looking for some consistency here, surely there is no place for bias in this association?

* Well if it's going to be "probably the same punishment handed out to Noel O Leary" why not have the review? Why pre-empt the refs decision? Why not let the message go out that if you are involved in unsavoury stuff that the ref doesn't see or doesn't deal with sufficiently then it'll come up for review. Better to have the gurrier players wondering should they risk the wrath of the cccc, rather than just Cork players wondering it.
C***s Constantly Critical of Cork ;-)

What a crock of crap. Both sdes were at it, and Gooch started the mouthing at Cluxton, so he had to expect it in return. Galvin did headbutt Casey (who is no saint himself), - it happened right in front of us, and the linesman would have been Helen Keller not to have seen it. Casey didn't go down tho and pretend to die like the Gooch & Donaghy at latter stages of the game. It was a hard game and both sides expected it and were at it - whatever their sauce. Goading from one side and feigning injury on the other..neither attractive, but both unfortunately evident yesterday.

* To be fair to the Gooch I think he fell very akwardly smacking his head in the fall - it wasn't that bad a tackle and I don't think there was any evil intent it's just the way he fell

galvins kick was no worse than whelans close to the end of the match. casey took dara o se out late and that was probably why he got the shoulder. jason sherlock struck a player while on a yellow and bannon co incidentally booked the wrong player.Declan o sullivan got booked for getting a slap from a dublin player. I could go on. There is a worrying trend in both codes that allows off the ball stuff and the officials seem to accept it instead of protecting players and the integrity of our games. There also seems to be more willingness to allow it against the teams at the top end in both codes and we are increasingly seeing players booked for refusing to allow themselves be intimidated rather than players being booked for off the ball and late tackles. For what its worth o'leary should not have been suspended following the munster final but remember the ref booked galvin in that incident, another case of a ref booking a players reputation rather than his actions. O leary however should count himself very lucky to be available for the AI final.
