After the goading at the end of the Laois match, surely the manager has to take responsibility for the crap they were at it today.
Funnily enough, they started on Declan O'Sullivan and he was the difference. Its pure stupid. Do they know that fella's track record. He's been a star player since U14 singled out to be a Kerry forward from 16 on.
You wind a fella like that up??? MOM by a long way imho.
The "Pillar" has to take some blame for this.
Every second goading is a sceond wasted concentrating on the game. And all it does (when the opposition are good enough) is fire them up
Fools.

I didn't see it on TV, but who can possibly be surprised. I think Galvin embodies the absolute cynicism that is the hallmark and at the core of this Kerry team.
The Kerry crwod always point to Noel O' Leary whenever we point out the indiscretions of the likes of Galvin and Dara. Nothing could be less apt. Noelie, unfortunatley, reacts to provocation, he doesn't instigate it like these two. If they can remember their own Páidí O Sé inhis heyday, they will see the cast he was moulded in. Tough. Not just plain dirty like those two.

Some example for a teacher to be giving alright. His disciplinary record on the whole is shameful.
And he's a fine footballer.
Can't stop getting involved though, he needs to have a serious chat with himself.

Is he really a teacher?

I find it hilarious that the cork lads are giving out sh1te about cynical, persistent fouling when you have to look no further than cork back 3 in hurling to see the embodiment of that

The likes of you would be perfect for a stand-up on his first night so, just to aid the confidence. Thought this was a football discussion. Feel free to add your anti-Cork spite, but at least get the sport right.

now now john
we are talking about persistent cynical fouling in gaelic games not just football
sure if that was the case you would have deleted your replies from the ticket thread
so you deny that the 3 amigos are persistent and cynical foulers and by the way it's not anti cork spite but every time anyone draws attention to this it's dressed up as anti cork spite and defended to the hilt by the cork lads
i want to see ya win the football BTW

I think he gave up the teaching this year and went into the pub trade. And he is a brilliant player, no question. He gets through a huge amount of hard-work for fellow forwards, hoovers up a massive amount of loose ball around midfield covers back in defence, has a superb engine as the soccer-heads say, and is good to pop up with some good points. But my God, he is dirty.

Personally think Paul Casey (while not trying to condone a headbutt) had a smack in the face of some description coming to him for a while. Constantly trying to act the hard man.
Galvin I think from what I see on the telly is a bit of a "Give a Dog a bad name", alot of what he does is harmless enough, not nice but all in all harmless. Then again didnt see headbutt yesterday. Anyone elsewhere think Ciaran Whelan could be ending his career by commiting a reckless lazy tackle.
I thin without a shadow of a doubt worst Dublin player for goading is Bryan Cullen, The Media Darling so very rarely mentioned.

I think you boys on this thread going on about an amateur footballers profession would do better than to judge so quickly. Talk football, dont dont discuss how a man makes a living. AFR, I'd hope you're watching this sort of stuff, I dont appreciate an amateur sportsman having his profession called into question, especailly someone who is fantastic at his job and loved by his students.
I love how quick you all are to judge Galvin, yet not a mention of the vile actions dished out to him in the course of the game. As for a "headbutt", if thats what you call a headbutt, then you'd be better off watching MUFC than GAA.

Fair point - what he does for a living has no relevance here.
I was in the Hogan and saw the incident. He did headbut him but there was no force in it - more of a flick to be honest. I know that doesn't make it right but thankfully Casey didnt go down - we dont need that in the game. I think Casey thought about going down but thought better of it and he deserves credit for that.

That's incorrect. he is actually a teacher at the great football school Colaiste Chriost Ri -in Cork, of all places.
He is a nasty piece of work, when he wants to be, but in fairness I thought it was disgraceful the way some of those dublin players were carrying on yesterday. I would have been happy enough to see the boys in blue win Sam this year, but those kind of antics really put the neutral off. If this is encouraged by Pillar, then he has gone way down in my estimation.

I agree, let the mans job out of it. Apart from a few idiot parents who gave him crap, i believe he was loved by the students in Chriost Ri in Cork, a hotbed of football, and its Cork lads, so if they like him there then he can't be a bad chap, and i've heard the same from people who played in UCC with him. He is still a teacher in Killarney now.
As for the headbutt, forget about it, it wasn't. He may be in trouble for the kick out according to the Examiner, but i hope not. We all want himself and Noel against each other in the final.

So the Dubs are the only ones goading then.
Poor Kerry would not be able for that god bless em!
Is it not they are just better at keeping it out of sight?

Am I the only one here who thinks it is possible that the Dublin players have been advised to abuse and goad the opposition? Does anyone know enough about sports psychology to suggest whether or not this is possible? It just seems systematic at this stage. I also think that the majoriy of the things that Galvin does is harmless although i retain the right to change my opinion if i ever see the alleged head butting incident.

AFR this is the same crap we had last year about Galvin. Comments referring to his profession should be removed immediately.

It does seem that most of them are doing it although only in the forward line really (but im open to correction on this) im not sure how it is an advantage to be honest!

I don't like Galvin either, but the abuse he is getting is unreal. How he restrained himself yesterday I don't know, he was getting dogs abuse. anyone that mentions a players personal life or job should be banned simple as that AFR, otherwise you have potential libel cases in the waiting

and how many 'neutrals' saw dublin players spend twenty minutes trying to incite galvin after his admittedly foolish booking to see if he would react and get sent off? himself and noel are as bad as eachother - just can't help but get involved. both teams - kerry in particular - would be poorer without them.

The Dublin Players must be encouraged to goad. A tactic which would suggest they didn't believe they could out football Kerry. Apart from 2-3 players all the Dubs were at it from the outset, especially in the first half. When you Jason Sherlock at it, whatever you think of him, he is not that kind of player. Caffrey made me sick this morning saying how proud his was of their behaviour. Obvisioiusly he advocates this kind of bullying. Thankfully in the 2nd half Kerry done what Kerry do, rose above this and played football. They play football the way it should be played, can kick points from all angles. Not a Kerryman but always shout for Kerry in football, as the play the football I enjoy watching.
